Kirsten and Josh – Lake Wilderness Lodge Wedding – Maple Valley, Washington
Kirsten and Josh were married just outside of Renton, Washington at the Lake Wilderness Lodge. We did their first look and some portraits at the Lake Wilderness Arboretum right next to the venue, and as the sun set on the beautiful fall day, the ceremony was held on the venue lawn with Lake Wilderness as the backdrop. During the ceremony, a little pair of ducks decided to crash the wedding and stood at the back of the aisle for just a moment to check things out. We headed in for the reception just as it was getting dark outside, the couple had used little succulents as place cards for table assignments, and I loved the geometric table numbers they made, friends and family were also treated to a trail mix bar for snacks and sweets (the first time I’d ever seen that, what a great idea!). In one of the best toasts I’ve heard in a while, Kirsten’s maid of honor had picked out sappy or cute public messages that Kirsten and Josh had written to each other on Facebook, and read them aloud; everyone in the room was laughing (including the couple). There was no lack of love during the day, and I have no doubt these two have a very happy life together ahead!
Amanda and Clint – Salish Lodge Wedding – Snoqualmie Falls, Washington
When I first met Amanda and Clint – I was so excited at the chance to get to capture their wedding. They are one of those couples that you just can’t help but love, their happiness is pretty contagious. Their wedding day was no exception – as we walked around the overlook of Snoqualmie Falls, these two could no stop smiling and laughing with each other during their portraits.  Not only did we luck out with a gorgeous crisp day for an autumn wedding, we were even visited by a little honey bee looking for a little snack in Amanda’s bouquet. Guests were treated to incredible views of the falls as these two exchanged vows outside of the lodge, and they signed their marriage certificate outside just as the sun was setting behind the hillside. As night set in during dinner and into dancing, the area and nearby cliffs were surrounded by a sort of magical mist from the falls. It was such a beautiful and wonderful celebration, and I was lucky to get to photograph it.
Sydney and Treavor – Portland LDS Temple and Lacamas Lake Lodge
I met with Sydney and Treavor and their families at the Portland LDS Temple to get some pictures around the temple before their wedding reception. It was one of those very warm days in early July, but we were able to stick mostly to the shade and grab some really beautiful family pictures around the gorgeous white marble of the building. Then the two of them stuck around with me for a few more portraits in the 90 plus degree weather. I can’t say enough what great sports these two were during their pictures, even though it was super hot they were both smiling and laughing the entire time, which makes my job pretty easy. I loved the silhouette of Sydney’s dress, and the colors of her bouquet, Treavor had a really wonderful white and blue wedding ring that looked just incredible when we put it next to the Sunflowers in the bouquet.
Later that afternoon friends and family gathered at the Lacamas Lake Lodge for a reception, you will notice that I got lots of pictures of the dessert table because it was just filled with goodies (cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, canolis, and lots of other bite-sized treats). At the end of the day, I was able to steal the couple away for a few more portraits on the dock near the lake. There was so much joy at this celebration, I was very happy to get to be there to capture some of it!
Jaki and Devin – Wedding at The Cornerstone Lodge, Plain, WA
Jaki and Devin got married at the Cornerstone Lodge on a stunning day just a few miles from Leavenworth in Plain, Washington. There are so many details about this wedding that were absolutely gorgeous! I loved the lace dress, the yellow bouquet, Jaki’s blue rhinestone heels, and her bird cage veil for the wedding ceremony. Along with the table centerpieces of yellow flowers in blue mason jars, Devin and Jaki put pictures of themselves at whatever age the table number was (which was such a cute idea!). The programs were printed on fans for the guests, and the sign in was a thumb print tree on a canvas for them to hang in their home. Devin and Jaki were such a pleasure to work with, and it was clear from all of the wedding toasts and their interactions with friends and family that these two are one fantastic couple, loved dearly by any who know them! I could go on and on, but I’ll let the pictures do the talking!
Rita and Cirihn – Corson Building Wedding – Seattle, Washington
Rita and Cirihn were married at the Corson Building in Seattle, Washington. It was one of those absolutely gorgeous fall days, and when I arrived at their home to photograph them getting ready, I was treated to a wonderful view of the water and all the beautiful fall trees. I got a chance to meet their pup, Ruby, and to spend some time with them as they got ready (a more calm pair I’ve yet to meet on their wedding day). We arrived at the Corson Building just in time to get a few late afternoon photos with that beautiful fall sun, and surrounded by the gardens of the venue (I also got a chance to peek in the kitchen and see all of the wonderful food getting prepared). As the day faded, the guests arrived and gathered for the ceremony, after that everyone was treated to a course after course of delicious food prepared by the chefs on site, topped off with a pear and quince pastry.  It was a wonderfully intimate celebration that allowed Rita and Cirihn to spend time visiting with all of their guests, and the night was full of warm conversation, laughter, and lots of happy tears.
Jesikah and Jon – Wedding at Alderbrook Park, Brush Prairie, Washington
Jesikah and Jon got married on their anniversary at the beautiful Alderbrook Park in Washington. The deep reds of Jesikah’s bridal bouquet and the rich black of the bridesmaids’ dresses were a wonderful compliment to the lush green of the wedding site near the lake at Alderbrook. The wedding had a subtle Snow White theme (notice the rich color scheme and the apples), which really fit in with the surrounding scenery (the little cottage seemed right out of a fairy tale). The sky threatened to rain all day, but the clouds cleared up momentarily for the ceremony (we even saw a bit of sun), and even though it rained a bit during the family photos and the portraits, Jesikah and Jon were great sports about it (and I thought it had a wonderfully romantic feel about it), you can even see the tiny specks of rain in some of the portraits. The rain also gave me a great chance to see how very loving this group was, Jon was always willing to hold an umbrella, lend his jacket, or let Jesikah sit on his lap to keep her out of the rain as much as possible, and Jesikah was always checking to make sure everyone else (including her very sweet daughter) was warm and comfortable during the day. One of the groomsmen even made a makeshift rain cover for the littler kids using a tablecloth (which they thought was lots of fun to hide under and peek out of). A few of my favorite photos below are the pictures of Jon with Jesikah’s daughter walking up the aisle to give him a hug and kiss, and the photo of Jesikah taking a quick break from the rain during our portraits by sitting on Jon’s lap, the picture of the little ones hiding from the rain, and the close up of Jesikah’s bouquet, where you can see the lovely rain drops.
